Paper Ballot Voting at the Precinct Level
eScan is a precinct-based, digital ballot-imaging voting terminal. It takes just a second for eScan to read both sides of a ballot in one pass, and the voter knows in less than 3 seconds if his ballot is accepted or rejected. The ballot image is stored on the Mobile Ballot Box for retrieval and tabulation by the Tally application, so the eScan is a seamless part of the Hart Voting System.
Accurate, secure and easy to operate, the eScan uses advanced digital technology. Recorded ballots drop automatically into a locked ballot box incorporated into the eScan to create a secure, verifiable paper record of the votes cast.
Paper ballots used with the eScan are generated in the BOSS application and printed using the Ballot Now application.
